It has always been an idea on one hand, a burning desire on the other hand and focus, like a lamp in front, to guide. This idea was shared with a few, by the proprietor, Dr. Raphael Akinboye, and in the very early hours of Monday, the 16th day of September, 1996, this idea came alive with the birth of the school, OPTIMUM PRIVATE PRIMARY SCHOOL, (popularly known as O.P.P. School). The school kicked off with forty-six (46) pupils, in a humble rented three-bedroom apartment, situated on Abanishe Street, Agodo, a peaceful town in Egbe, Lagos State of Nigeria. One force kept everyone moving, the burning desire to impart knowledge and build a citadel, known only for academic excellence.

Within one year of commencement, the school had recorded an overwhelming turnout of one hundred and fifty (150) pupils on active attendance. Four years later, the school relocated to her permanent site on the same street, where she is presently located. At this time, O.P.P had become a household name within Agodo and her environments, with many students travelling very long distances, to attend the school. At this stage of her development, the school was faced with various challenges, but owing to the grace of God, She scaled through them all.

Just about the same year after relocating to her permanent site, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of October, 2001, the school entered the second phase, establishing the secondary school, registering about twenty-six (26) students into the junior secondary school one and two. The population of the secondary school students as well as the primary school has grown to more than two hundred (200) in each section.

Not long, the school acquired her approval from the government. In 2012, her students sat for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) by The West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO), after obtaining approval from these bodies, to do the same.

The school has in these recent times, since the commencement of the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), from 2012, 2013 and 2014 recorded an average rate of 92% success. A student from Optimist College, obtained the best result in Alimosho Local Government Area in the 2012 WASSCE.

With Many other great achievements, we are moving very fast towards achieving our vision and accomplishing our mission.

Our success speaks for us, and it is still speaking, we believe that with GOD, all things are possible, our motto.
